A final grade is formed on the basis of accumulated points. According to the Bologna principles, points are distributed as follows:
1. Seminar paper 40 points
2. Interaction 20 points
3. Seminar presentation and defence 10 points
4. Oral examination 30 points
TOTAL: 100 points
a) Seminar papers are written and defended for each individual subject taught. Students write their seminar papers on the topic agreed upon in the meeting with a subject teacher. Seminar papers are written in accordance with the Methodology and Technical Design of Scientific Papers and Instructions on Writing Seminar Papers, available at the University web site. The subject teacher awards 0 to 40 points for the quality of seminar papers. The subject teacher may return seminar papers for additional repairs and refinements.
b) Interaction is awarded with 0 to 20 points. Students are divided into groups, each group consisting of 3-5 members. Students exchange seminar papers and presentations among themselves. During the defence of seminar papers, all students in one group are expected to give their remarks, suggestions and critics on the papers of other members. Based on their remarks and responses, students are graded for their interaction and knowledge regarding the topics presented by other students.
c) Seminar presentation and defence is awarded with 0 to 10 points. Seminar presentation lasts for a maximum of 10 minutes. After the presentation, other members of the group give their remarks, suggestions and critics. The subject teacher may ask additional questions and is obligated to stimulate students’ interaction which is graded as stated in the previous Section. The duration of seminar defence and discussion is not limited. It is recommended that the discussion takes 30 minutes per one seminar paper.
d) Oral examination is carried out on the same day, after the presentation and defence of seminar papers. In this way all activities concerning a particular subject are carried out publicly and transparently in front of all students and groups attending the examination. Oral examinations are awarded with 0 to 30 points depending on the student’s acquired knowledge regarding theoretical and practical aspects of the subject taught. Oral examinations are conducted in the form of free and professional discussions on different topics in the field of the subject taught.
